Speech & Language Therapy
Providing vital services to children with Down syndrome
Our Speech and Language Therapists specialise in helping children overcome speech, language, and communication challenges. These difficulties can arise from various factors such as developmental delays, hearing issues, low muscle tone, and executive function difficulties.
Language plays a crucial role in your child's cognitive and social development. Through our therapy sessions, we empower children to express their needs, articulate their emotions, describe their experiences, and openly communicate their thoughts and concerns with their friends.
We understand the importance of language in your child's everyday life, and our dedicated team is here to provide the support they need to thrive.
Speech & Language Sessions
At the Down Syndrome Centre, we believe in understanding and celebrating each child's unique abilities. Our dedicated Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) conduct comprehensive evaluations to identify your child's strengths and areas for improvement. We also take the time to address any concerns you may have as a family.
Based on the evaluation, our SLTs develop a personalised treatment plan that targets your child's specific difficulties. We offer various session options to cater to your child's needs, including one-on-one individual sessions, paired sessions, and interactive group activities. Additionally, we recognize the value of collaboration, and in some cases, joint sessions with our Occupational Therapists (OTs) may be recommended.
