Occupational Therapy

How Occupational Therapy Works

Providing vital services to children with Down syndrome
Every child is unique, and we understand the challenges that children with Down syndrome may face in their daily lives. We're here to help your child thrive by addressing their fine and gross motor skills as well as sensory processing difficulties.

Our Occupational Therapy services are designed to support your child in developing essential life skills. From dressing, feeding, and toileting at home to improving handwriting and typing skills for school, we cover it all. We also focus on promoting social interactions and meaningful play with peers, ensuring your child can fully engage in enjoyable leisure activities.

Occupational Therapy Sessions

At the Down Syndrome Centre, we understand that every child is unique. Our dedicated therapists take the time to evaluate your child's strengths and weaknesses, while also addressing any concerns you may have as a family. This personalised approach allows us to develop a tailored treatment plan that matches your child's specific needs and challenges.

Our Occupational Therapists offer various session options to accommodate your child's requirements. Whether it's one-on-one individual sessions, paired sessions, or engaging group activities, we provide a supportive environment for your child to thrive. In certain cases, joint sessions with our Speech & Language Therapists may also be recommended, ensuring a comprehensive and holistic approach to your child's development.
