Group Therapy and Children’s Workshops

Group Therapy Services

We offer group therapy sessions run jointly by our speech & language therapy and occupational therapy teams.
Group Therapy is an excellent opportunity for children to be able to develop their skills in a less pressurised environment than individual therapy.

We offer group therapy sessions run jointly by our Speech & Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy teams. Goals include making friends, developing confidence and self-esteem, and improving listening skills and conversation skills.

Children’s Workshops

Occupational therapy and speech and language therapy.
The Occupational Therapy and Speech and Language Therapy Departments have created a range of workshops for children with Down syndrome.

In order to maximise therapeutic benefit of these workshops, places will be offered in accordance with the child’s age and assessed needs.

We also run Sibshops throughout the year. This is an opportunity for brothers and sisters of children with Down syndrome to obtain peer support and education in a highly recreational context.

The Down Syndrome Centre is compliant with all regulatory requirements for care of children, clinical practice, teaching and governance.

Memberships include: Down Syndrome International, the Wheel and the Charities Institute Ireland, from whom we have Triple-Lock status for fundraising, governance and financial management.

We are registered with the Charities Regulator to whom we submit our annual report.
