The Down Syndrome Centre is thrilled to introduce a new subsidised psychotherapy service tailored specifically for parents of children with Down syndrome.
The service is provided by Jackie Ryan, who brings both professional expertise and personal experience to the table.
Her one-to-one sessions support parents in navigating the unique challenges and emotions that often accompany raising a child with Down syndrome.
Jackie's is qualified in Humanistic & Integrative Psychotherapy and is accredited by the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is also the mother of a 13-year-old with Down syndrome.
Her sessions for parents of children with Down syndrome address feelings of uncertainty, coping with transition, personal growth, and other approaches to enhancing well-being and resilience.
The service typically involves an initial advisory session by phone to determine if psychotherapy is the right fit.
If both parties agree to proceed, up to six heavily subsidised sessions will be offered, lasting 50 minutes and costing only €25.
Sessions take place weekly on selected dates from Tuesday to Thursday mornings in Dundrum.
To book or inquire further, contact Jackie directly via email at jaxryan@gmail.com or by phone on 087 659 3640.
